Every Detail Counts

I’m a Gestalt psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults and young people who want to improve their emotional wellbeing, navigate life’s challenges and develop healthier relationships with themselves and others. My approach is relational, collaborative and tailored to each person.

Alongside my general practice, I also support athletes and sporting teams, helping junior athletes entering elite pathways, injured athletes during recovery, and retired athletes adjusting to life after competition. My focus is on wellbeing and resilience, not just performance.

As we are located just steps from the beach, I also offer sessions outdoors - whether you prefer a gentle beach-walk or a relaxed ocean-gazing session, we can take the space you need to reflect, pause and connect.

About

Welcome, I’m so pleased you’ve arrived here. Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal decision, and I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for me, my style, and how we might work together to improve your quality of life. My own story has shaped the therapist I am today. Growing up in Byron Bay with a single mother in the 1980s gave me an early appreciation of resilience, independence, and community. I channelled my energy into sport, competing at high levels in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics and representing NSW multiple times. When I wasn’t in the gym, you’d find me, training in horseback riding sporting events such as; bends, flags, barrel racing and camp drafting again going on to compete at a state level. These experiences grounded me in discipline, risk adversity, and supported my developing knowledge in high performance sports. Later, I built a career in marketing, founded and sold businesses, and, together with my husband of 15 years, raised our children. Each chapter has given me fresh insights into human growth, change, and relationship. Over the course of my life, my passion for supporting people became impossible to ignore. After a decade of running various businesses which led to coaching women in small business, I formalised my learning by completing a Master of Gestalt Psychotherapy. Today, I work with individuals and groups navigating trauma, grief, mental health challenges, and pivotal life choices. As a qualified Gestalt psychotherapist and group facilitator, I also work directly with sporting teams to create more cohesive, relational team environments that prioritise wellbeing over performance-driven KPIs. My focus is on addressing adversity and suffering within sport, such as injury, transition, and the psychological demands of life on tour, rather than simply enhancing performance metrics. Alongside this, I support individual athletes to process their experiences, build resilience, and sustain their mental health throughout their careers. I completed my Master of Gestalt Psychotherapy at Gestalt Therapy Brisbane and am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with PACFA, the governing body of psychotherapists in Australia. I am also a registered member of GANZ (Gestalt Therapy Australia and New Zealand) and regularly engage in ongoing, diverse training to continually deepen and expand my practice. Additionally, I am a member of Blue Knot the national educating body for complex trauma and I am a regular participate in their trainings.

How it works

A Gestalt Approach

IMG_2998.webp

Gestalt therapy is a holistic, experiential process that invites awareness and self-acceptance. By focusing on the present moment, authentic dialogue, and gentle experimentation, it helps you reconnect with your own capacity for change.

Gestalt Group Process

More than conversation, Gestalt group therapy sees the group as a living system of connection and feedback. By focusing on the present moment, shared dialogue, and gentle experimentation, participants discover new awareness and ways of relating within a safe, collective space.

Working Relationally

Gestalt therapy values the relationship itself as the heart of healing - two people meeting with honesty and presence. Rooted in Laura Perls’ and Martin Buber’s “I–Thou” philosophy, it invites mutual respect and genuine human connection.
Through this collaboration, we create a safe, responsive space where awareness and change can emerge naturally.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Trauma can stem from a single event or repeated experiences over time. This approach centres on safety, awareness and compassion to support healing.
